Sandra Stalker is an award winning local underwater photographer focussing on the hidden colourful fiesta of underwater wonders on our fabulous Dorset shoreline. From shuffling down ice covered slipways and ice cream head in the winter to hours floating through swarms of jellyfish in the summer Sandra and her husband Ryan spend most of their time floating in the sea photographing our local underwater creatures and places in creative ways.
'My talk will be a colourful showcase of these hidden underwater wonders that exist right on our doorstep and the trials of capturing them on camera through a slideshow of my photography and tales of how I get the shots. I will also talk about Ryan’s infamous award winning Goose barnacle on a volleyball shot that won the British wildlife Photography awards 2024, our fascination with these pelagic ocean drifters and the lengths we go to capture them on camera.'
Your tickets will help us proudly support Dorset Wildlife Trust.

Another fantastic meet up of local climbers for a delicious meal served by our brilliant team. This years quiz included a general Dorset climbing knowledge, a music round and the the always popular rebus round.
Thank you to everyone who came! We look forward to seeing you at the crags and next year for the annual meal!
Robbies visit was his second at the Dorset Adventure Cafe and again to a sell-out crowd. His talk focussed on his 'bad days in the office', a mixture of harrowing tales of pushing hard with a comedic twist. He shared his learnings from each close call inspiring the audience to get out and adventure.
He finished his talk by showing his new St Kilda film and generously shared his time for a QA and pictures at the end. Robbie, you are welcome back anytime!
Robbie’s talk and film sandwiched the fantastic meal that the Dorset Adventure Cafe served in the interval.
The profits from the tickets will be donated to the Dorset Bolt Fund. Please check out the
DBF facebook page if you have time to help them on their quest to keep Dorset’s cliffs safe.
Franco Cookson is a professional climber know mostly for bold hard trad usually topping out at 20-40meters. Last year he decided to spread his wings and test himself with the best of the adventures by sailing to Greenland to attempt a new 1200meter big wall. Franco took us through the up and downs of the adventure with humour and reality.
This was again a Dorset Bolt Fund fundraiser and the crowd was packed. Thanks to all of our volunteers, kitchen team and everyone for coming. We hope to see Franco here again in the future!
Dorset Adventure Cafe hosted the climber's Christmas meal on the 9th of December. It was a fantastic event with lots of the local faces turning up. We enjoyed delicious food as well as mulled wine and a good quiz to round it off with.
We thank anyone for coming down and we really hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. See you next year.
